Deathroll, as in the game
Two players /roll in turn. The first rolls 1 to the stake, the next 1 to whatever was just rolled, and so on down. Whoever rolls the 1 pays the stake to the other. Here you play against Grix, the goblin who runs the table.
A run
You sit down with 100 gold and play up to fifteen duels. Before each one you put gold on the table: 10 at least, up to everything you have. The stake is the number the duel starts from: 250 gold is /roll 250. A small stake is a short, sharp duel (with 10 the opener rolls the 1 one time in ten); a big one is a long slide down.
You open the odd duels, Grix opens the even ones. Between duels you may cash out. Under 10 gold you are bust, and the run is over. The score is the gold you leave with, whether you cash out or play all fifteen.
The loaded die
You bring one loaded die to every run (the red die by your purse). Once a run, on one of your own rolls from 10 or less, you may roll it instead: a loaded roll is 2 to the number, so it cannot be the 1. Grix then rolls from whatever it shows. It is a red button of its own beside the roll, pressed twice; Space, Enter and R never roll it (by keyboard it is L, twice).
Inside one duel it pays to roll it from 4 or less and to keep it from 5 up: from 2 it turns one chance in three into two in three. Over a run it is worth most at the bottom of your biggest duel. On a daily everyone has one, and a loaded roll takes the same dice of the duel as a plain one would.
Daily and Endless
Daily: everyone plays the same dice today, duel by duel: the same stake in the same duel gives the same rolls, whatever was staked in the duels before. What differs is how much you risk and when you stop. You get one try a day, and it counts from the moment you sit down: there is no second look. Leaving the table keeps it open for 30 minutes (Continue on the start screen); after that, or when you start Endless instead, it ends with the gold you had, and a stake that was on the table is lost.
Endless: fresh dice every run, never the daily's; your best counts for this week and all time. Boards show Discord accounts; visitors play the whole game, and signing in brings today's daily along.
Keys
Space or R puts the stake down or rolls (a second press skips a tumble once it has started; holding a key down does nothing), 1–6 press the chips: the first one sets the stake, more add to it, 0 or Backspace clears it. C cashes out, L pressed twice rolls the loaded die when it may come out, Esc closes a dialog. Everything also works by mouse or touch. The pace of the rolls is in Settings.
The table never bets for you: a new duel proposes your last stake but never your whole purse, and the first all-in of a run asks before it goes down.
