Kick!

The job

You are the interrupter. Packs of one to three casters are pulled one after another; every fifth pull is a boss. Stop their casts and survive. Health at zero ends the run.

Two buttons

Interrupt stops one enemy's cast (short cooldown). Click or tap the enemy, or press its slot key. Stop interrupts every enemy at once, shielded casts included, and stuns them (long cooldown).

Read the bar

• Yellow: a normal cast. Interrupt it; the later, the more points. The last fifth is a clutch.
• Green, draining: a channel that hurts on every tick. Interrupt it early.
• Grey with a shield: a harmless self-buff (Frost Armor, Mana Shield…). Bait: it cannot be interrupted and kicking it wastes the kick. Let it go.
• Red with a shield: a big shielded cast (Flamestrike, Flame Wreath…). It hurts a lot and only Stop answers it. They only come when Stop has had time to come back, so save it for them.
• Polymorph, Fear, Hex, Chains: if they land you cannot press anything for a few seconds.
• Bloodlust: if it lands, every enemy casts faster for a while.

Double stop

From pull 7, two enemies may start big shielded casts together. The second always begins a beat after the first: wait for it, then Stop once to catch both (with a bonus). Press too early and the second one still lands.

Fakes

From pull 4, enemies sometimes cancel their own cast partway and start another. Waiting for the last moment can leave you kicking into nothing, which also wastes the kick.

Nothing is unavoidable

Casts that need the interrupt are spaced further apart than its cooldown, and big shielded casts wait for Stop to come back. Later pulls are much faster and hit much harder, so runs end through mistakes, never through damage nobody could have stopped.

Score

Every interrupt in a row raises the multiplier, up to x5 at 40. A cast that lands or a wasted kick resets it (a big shielded cast that lands spoils the flawless pull but keeps the combo). A pull with no mistakes is flawless and pays a bonus. Every tenth interrupt in a row heals a little.

Endless and the daily fight

Endless is a new fight every run. The daily fight is the same fight for everyone that day, and you get one try: it is written down the moment it starts, and a fight you leave counts as it stood (so Esc or Leave asks once before it ends your try; the fight goes on while it asks). Afterwards the Daily chip shows your result and opens today's board; a new fight comes with the new day. Today's board lists fights begun signed in: a visitor's daily counts for the week once he signs in, but not there.

Training

The Training chip on the start screen is a 60-second pull in six short lessons: yellow, grey, green, red, crowd control, two casters. One kind of cast at a time with a word each, no damage, and nothing of it is counted or reaches a board.

Classes and boards

Classes change the names, icons and colours of your two buttons, not the numbers. Everyone shares one board. Sign in with Discord to appear on it; visitors still play and see where their run would land.
